Loved our dinner. Great atmosphere that was casual and elegant at the same time. Attentive staff throughout dinner. Bob server was very pleasant, fun, helpful yet never intrusive. Manager and additional servers helped to deliver platters.I loved this classy touch and personalized attention. Music was perfect compliment, never loud or too wild. A little jazzy, a little rock. Bar area near entrance was low key, sports on multiple tvs but not too many. We asked for a booth for comfort and there were many. Excellent seating, comfortable. Large tables, we like to have appetizer boards and there was plenty of room. The food was excellent in every way, kudos to Executive Chef Andrew Pearce. Complex flavors, delightful presentation! He's well known and we could see why. We are vegetarian but they were happy to oblige. Hubby ended up with some type of thick spaghetti and Vodka sauce, very happy with this choice. Will return and try other options, too full for dessert but that looked amazing as well. Overall I suggest for quiet elegant dinner, romantic atmosphere. Side room for larger groups but still quiet. My only issue is perhaps they could add a few vegetarian choices. The vegan crab cake is my next target.

My family and I went to celebrate a birthday dinner. We normally go to Flemings up the street for celebrations, but wanted to give Monterey Grill a try. We are SO happy we tried it, in fact, it will now become our new "Flemings" for celebrations. The service was impeccable. We had Carlen and he was one of the best waiters we have had at a restaurant. Several managers came by to ask how everything was. The food was amazing! Each and every dish had so much flavor and cooked to perfection. You can tell that everything is not only made from scratch, it is all very high quality. Portion sizes are great. Highly recommend the angry cashew shrimp, which is like bang bang shrimp from Bonefish Grill but way better. All the sides were excellent. And the star of the show was obviously the steak. So glad to have this restaurant nearby, we will be regulars there.

Food is amazing from the hand crafted cocktails to Crispy Artichoke, steaks & exquisite desserts - some of the best we've ever eaten. All were cooked exactly the way we ordered. Servers are over the top attentive, along with management & owners are visible interacting with guests to make sure everything is running smoothly. The atmosphere is gorgeous from the moment you enter. The sexy lighting and the live music make for a lovely evening out. You won't be disappointed.

My wife and I like to have our Valentine’s Day dinner a few days early to avoid the crowds, so a few weeks ago, we had an adventure at the Monterey Grill! This is a fairly new establishment, the event space in the Aloft hotel has been converted into an elegant setting. I made an early reservation so we had the place to ourselves for a little while. To drink I had Spellbound IPAs, my wife had a bottle of Fleur De Mer rose, and we shared a smoked old-fashioned. Our appetizer was the angry cashew shrimp. We decided to share an entree, the 16 ounce dry aged, New York strip steak. We then added a buttered lobster tail, seared scallops, and a side of lump crab fried rice. The steak was decent, and everything else was delicious. The highlight of our adventure was trying to figure out why the other patrons were there. It was snowing heavily and it was the middle of the week so we were probably the only locals enjoying an early romantic dinner. There were some hotel guests dining solo and several groups in varying sizes. Our waiter told us that the large group in the private room were all doctors attending the same conference. That piqued our interest so we started paying attention the guests coming in. So whether you’re looking for a romantic date night, a fancy celebration for your employees, or a good meal when you’re staying at the Aloft hotel, go to the Monterey Grill! #adventuresinsouthjersey #mtlaurelnj #montereygrill #valentinesday

Yesterday, me and my husband went out for a date night and tried this new restaurant. It was our first time there and we really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was amazing, the food was pretty good, and our server was really efficient. As we were leaving, my husband and I wanted to take a picture and the hostess, Maddie, offered to take it for us. She was so nice and made our experience even better. We'll definitely be coming back here.

Great atmosphere for a relaxing night out! Monterey Grill is co-located with the Aloft Mount Laurel, but do NOT dismiss it as "hotel food!" The dishes here are really special. My dinner was the American Wagyu Burger (photo below). Well prepared and a generous serving of fries too. There was live music on the night I dined; I'm not sure how often that occurs. For dessert, I went with the Flaming Key Lime pie. A nice update on a classic. Try it out here; you won't regret it!

Friends and I enjoyed dinner for the first time as it was absolutely superb. I highly recommend the fried artichokes, calamari, bone-in filet mignon (special), sides of spinach and the crab rice. The service was impeccable as the wine selection. This restaurant was extremely busy and I observed each server, runner and captains running to ensure everyone patron was accommodated. To have this type of menu, quality and service outside of Philadelphia or Atlantic City is incredible. The staff did not stop and were fully focused on ensuring their tables had a seamless experience. I can personally say that I have never had a more pergect filet mignon (bone-in) ever. I cannot wait to come back to enjoy their happy hour and brunch that offers live entertainment. Thank you for an exceptional experience.
